PERIODIC COMET DU TOIT-HARTLEY (1986q)
This comet has been recovered by J. V. Scotti, Lunar and
Planetary Laboratory, with the SPACEWATCH camera 0.91-m telescope
on Kitt Peak as shown below. There is some indication of diffuseness.
The correction to the prediction on MPC 10519 (by S. Nakano
for the principal component of the comet in 1982) is delta T = -0.3 day.

NOVA ANDROMEDAE 1986
     Y. Sheffer, University of Texas, writes: "I obtained a single
coude Reticon spectrum at 3 km/s per diode resolution on Dec.
16.199 UT with the 2.1-m Struve reflector at the McDonald Observatory.
The observed coverage is from (heliocentric) -3100 to +1500
km/s at H alpha. The profile seems to be a blend of at least four
components, and it peaks at -280 km/s. HWHM (= FWHM/2) is 870 km/s,
which includes an unknown contribution from two components at about
-950 and +700 km/s. These may prove to be [N II] 654.8 and 658.3
nm, both at about -250 km/s. The bluemost component of the profile
terminates at a (local) continuum at -2180 km/s. Atmospheric and
instrumental conditions were not spectrophotometric at the time."
UBV photoelectric observations made by K. Krisciunas at Mauna
Kea: 1986 Dec. 22.311 UT, V = 8.76 +/- 0.03; 22.299, B = 9.00 +/- 0.04:
28.286, V = 9.26 +/- 0.02; 28.276, B = 9.54 +/- 0.04. Comparison star
7 And (V = 4.53, B-V = +0.30). The B errors are estimates.

NOTICE CONCERNING TELEGRAMS
It is once again an 'open season' for making changes in the
list of subscribers to the Central Bureau's telegram service.
Subscribers who wish to make address changes, category changes,
etc., are requested to inform us of said changes by Feb. 28. We
regret that a charge of $50.00 must be made for address changes
and deletions (but not additions) outside these biannual seasons.
