SUPERNOVA 1988P IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY
     C. Pollas, Observatoire de la Cote d'Azur, reports his discovery
with the CERGA Schmidt of a possible supernova at R.A. = 15h29m57s.07,
Decl. = +1D47'33".2 (equinox 1950.0), 4".4 east and 3".7 north of the
nucleus of an anonymous galaxy. The object was observed on June 9.97
and 14.98 UT at mpg = 18.5.

SUPERNOVA 1988L IN NGC 5480
     M. Kidger, Instituto de Astrofisica de Canarias, communicates the
following information from the observers (and intepreters) listed on
IAUC 4613 in connection with SN 1988A: "SN 1988L appears to be of type
Ib, with He I at a rest-frame velocity of 8500 km/s and O I at 9770
km/s. A prominent line at 830 nm probably corresponds to a blend of
Ca II 857.9 nm with O I 844.6 nm and the S I 868.4, 888.0-nm doublet.
The [Ca II] doublet transition at 729.1 and 732.4 nm is also present."

PERIODIC COMET TEMPEL 2 (1987g)
     M. A'Hearn, H. Campins and D. Schleicher report simultaneous
optical and thermal infrared observations from the University of
Hawaii's 2.2-m reflector and Infrared Telescope Facility on Mauna Kea
on June 10 and 11. They confirm the basic period (near 9 hours) and
amplitude (near 0.5 mag) of the double-peaked lightcurve of Wisniewski
(IAUC 4603). In a 10" aperture the coma contribution was constant at
20 percent of the total light at maximum in the optical and less than
5 percent at 10 microns. The effective nuclear radius at maximum is
5.6 +/- 0.2 km with geometric albedo 0.024 +/- 0.005 and axial ratio
greater than or equal to 1.9.

NOVA OPHIUCHI 1988
Visual magnitude estimates: June 6.05 UT, 10.9 (A. Pereira,
Linda-a-Velha, Portugal); 7.04, 10.8 (Pereira); 10.36, 10.6 (D. A. J.
Seargent, The Entrance, N.S.W.); 11.43, 10.8 (Seargent); 12.48, 10.7
(R. H. McNaught, Coonabarabran, N.S.W.); 13.39, 11.0 (McNaught).
