camera + T-Max 400 film. Comet diffuse with central condensation.
C. Pollas (Observatoire de la Cote d'Azur, Caussols). 0.90-m Schmidt
  telescope.
J. Tatum (Victoria).

     Total visual magnitude estimates: Aug. 27.10 UT, 9.9 (D. W. E.
Green, Ashfield, MA, 0.15-m refractor; 5' coma); 28.20, 10.4 (D. Levy,
Tucson, AZ, 0.40-m reflector; faint, fanned 4' tail in p.a. 70 deg).
Corrigendum. On IAUC 4840, the discovery instrument used by
M. Rudenko is a 0.15-m refractor.
