Duerbeck and C. Gouiffes, European Southern Observatory, report: "Spectra taken Sept. 25.0 UT with the ESO 1.52-m telescope (320-1000 nm, resolving power 1000) show the well-developed principal spectrum of a moderately fast nova, one or two weeks after outburst and about 1 mag below maximum. While the blue-red part is dominated by H, Fe II, and Na I emission lines, pronounced O I and Ca II emission is seen in the infrared. Photoelectric measurements by K. Anton, Landessternwarte Heidelberg, with the ESO 0.5-m telescope on Sept. 25.1 UT yield v = 10.75, b-y = +0.42, m1 = -0.04, c1 = -0.11 (Stromgren system)." Visual magnitude estimate by P.
