COMET WHITE-ORTIZ-BOLELLI (1970f)
     Mr. Z. M. Pereyra, Cordoba Observatory for the CNEGH, provides
the following precise positions. Both plates were measured by Miss
B. Oviedo and Mr. J. J. Rodriguez. Apparently the tail was still
more than 2o long.

     1970 UT             R. A. (1950) Decl.        Mag.
     June  5.93305     6 05 44.95   + 8 49 54.8     8.0
           6.93339     6 08 44.66   + 8 35 32.6     8.5

     The following parabolic elements, by the undersigned, satisfy
the six precise positions May 23.964 to June 6.933 within 2". The
direction of perihelion is L = 282o.26, B = +35o.08 (equinox 1950.0).

     T = 1970 May 14.4859 ET   Peri. =  61.2935
                               Node  = 336.3186  1950.0
     q = 0.008879 AU           Incl. = 139.0652

     The positions in the following ephemeris are not expected to
be in error by more than about 3'. The magnitude, calculated from
12.0 + 5 log Delta + 10 log r, refers to the central condensation, this
formula being consistent with E. Roemer's final magnitude estimates
for another member of the Kreutz sungrazing group, comet 1963 V.
Comet 1970f could well be rather fainter.

NOTICE REGARDING PRECISE POSITIONS OF COMETS
     We draw attention again to the remark on IAUC 1983 concerning
our desire to limit the number of positions of comets published on
these Circulars. We wish, in general, to give not more than two
positions per observatory per comet per night.
